Day 13 Project GRAPEful

Posted by 1 on

Project GRAPEful Grape News LogoProject GRAPEful continues…Recap: We aim to bless our readers who, for the most part, have had a very difficult year in 2015.  For the next 21 days until Thanksgiving day, we will be sharing inspiring stories and things we are “GRAPEful” for.  We pray these tidbits bless you and that you and your family will find peace and strength each day.  (Aside from being able to enter to win prizes which you can read more about by clicking the link above.)  Today's installment of GRAPEfulness is brought to you by another tidbit of my article, The Blessings of Pain: 6. Similar pain enables you to be empathetic. That sympathy goes above and beyond when they HAVE experienced exactly the same pain or problem.  Empathy is an even more powerful support than is sympathy.  To have someone who has been through the exact struggle you have been through, share with you, help you and say they understand is even more of a blessing. So far you say, all these blessings are bestowed upon others.  But I tell you it is a blessing to be a blessing to others.  To give blessings blesses you in return. But if you need a blessing that is truly your own, look at these: So today, I’m thankful for being able to see and understand the pain others are going through and to be able to help. Conversely, I'm grateful for those who were able to understand me as I needed someone else's empathetic ear! What are your struggles and what are you thankful for today?  Please share as a comment down below this post. And please share this post with your Facebook family and other social media friends to inspire them to come and share their own as well.  We’ll be praying for each person listed below. ============================================================= Here’s what will be awarded for the contest so far: 1. • I am grapeful for my body! Though fearful of cameras and scales alike, I am thankful for my many functioning parts. I am thankful for my eyes and ears that see the beauty to appreciate and the horrors to learn from. I am thankful for my voice to be heard when it maters. I am thankful for my limbs that serve me in care taking of myself and others. I am thankful for my heart which has given me nearly 52 years of experiences. I am thankful for my brain which often tricks me into believing things one way and later reminds me of other possibilities. Though larger than appropriate and losing attractiveness points due mostly to uncontrollable gravity, my body carries me on to each new day!

  • I know exacty what you mean! I do’t too many people who would willingly assign themselves the ministry of empathy through suffering…or the life verse 2 Cor.1:3-7. Nonetheless, it is true that this verse best fits my most blessed times of helping others. Being able to truly understand and comfort others with the same comfort I received in Christ when I suffered gives me joy to realize there is PURPOSE TO THE PAIN. A greater purpose than my comfort: true empathy and connection with another who needs things they may not even realize they need yet. Walking beside others through trials is the deepest of bondbuilding relationships in a genuine unpretentious, truly authentic way. Thanks for the posts Jojo!

  • I’m very blessed even during struggles. Today I worked with a man in a wheelchair. He told me he was in an accident and is so lucky to be able to move his hands and arms and lucky that he is only paralyzed from the waist down. He said it could have been much worse. It was a pleasure to work with him.
